This is my black border collie, Chase. He was swimming in a pond up in Park City last weekend. I like this picture… I would change the pose just a little bit, but I love his fur all wet, and how the background is washed out.
I love good action Teeter shots. They are actually hard to capture. Most dogs do slow teeters, are just walking, and are kinda boring. Nothing boring about Ryker though!
Well, the tunnel isn’t Golden, but the retriever is! A picture from one of my latest agility trials. I still think the dog is not as crisp as he could be. I believe it was a USDAA trial. I love the summer, but it’s been a bit hot for the dogs.
I like the depth of field on this shot… still inside, and I’m trying to get a good balance of light. The shutter speed was 1/160 and the f-stop was 4.1. ISO is 1600 to gather the light. Again, a bit grainy, but I think the pose is cute.
Here is a border collie doing a nice box turn on the flyball box. As you can see, though, my shutter speed was not fast enough to stop the dog. The shutter speed 1/200 with an f-stop of 3.7. The ISO is 1600 again, in order to gather enough light.
I took some pictures last weekend at the flyball tournament in St. George, Utah. I was experimenting with different settings. It was indoors, and so I found that I had to have the aperature open quite wide and a fast shutter speed to stop the action. However, my lens isn’t quite good enough, and so I had to turn the ISO way up, to 1600. So with an f-stop of 4.5, shutter speed of 1/400, and an ISO of 1600, this is what I have. This is a smaller version, though. But if you blow it up you might see the graininess of the picture.
Nope this is not Kiwi the fruit! It’s Kiwi the Australian Shepherd! He’s a good friend of mine, what a silly boy he is! I love his two different colored eyes.
This is Jezi. She was a foster of ours back in August, September of 2007. Our good friends adopted her, and now she has an excellent home! I love how one ear is up, one is down.
Rydick is the companion dog to a friend of mine. He’s a border collie that has had some growing pains, both behavioral and physical. But he is a good boy and he has a great person to teach him the ropes. He’s probably about 18 months old. I loved this expression.
